walking and cycling in piedmont
Discover this beautiful region on foot or by bike. All ages will have fun! See our tips below.
Walking through the vineyards
With a guide or on your own
Piedmont is best known for good food and wine, the ultimate 'la dolce vita'. There is also plenty to do for the more active people among us. We ourselves love walking through the hills, hamlets and vineyards. This can be done with a guide, for example Giuseppe Rossi, who knows the area very well. In addition to walking tours, Giuseppe also does MTB tours and gets along well with beginners and pro's. If you want to go for a walk yourself, see for example if you find the site and app www.nl.wikiloc.com useful. Or www.komoot.com. Keep in mind that your phone will not reach you everywhere in the countryside.
With e-bikes over the hills
Easy to rent
We do it ourselves every year because we enjoy it too much: rent e-bikes from our Dutch neighbor Aad van Opstal and hit the road for a few hours. Suitable for teenagers but also for seniors! Aad brings the bikes to the starting point (sometimes at our house Poggio Maria), gives you a route on a laminated map and arranges a nice lunch restaurant along the way. Success guaranteed!
Please do book on time, because these e-bikes are a real hit. Contact Aad van Opstal, via ebikeacquiterme@gmail.com, or call tel. +39 3425273074.
