places to go in piedmont
Villages and cities full of simplicity, charm and nostalgia
Acqui Terme
Piedmont's best kept secret
The first time we came to Acqui Terme we were amazed. How come we hadn't been here before? That we have heard so few people talk about this? The town (it is too big for a 'village') is beautiful, authentic, charming, not overrun with tourists, and therefore actually one of the best kept secrets of the Piedmont.
Nizza Monferrato
The drive alone is worth it
If you go from Poggio Maria to Nizza, take the time to stop occasionally along the way to enjoy the view. You ride through the wine hills of the Monferrato, with the mountain peaks of the Alps in the background. Once in the village of Nizza there is also plenty to do!
Turin
Classy with a French 'twist'
Turin is perhaps one of the least known cities in Italy, while it is one of the most beautiful. In recent years, more and more tourists are discovering the city.
Bubbio
Panoramic location, cozy village
Bubbio is a small, lovely village with about 900 inhabitants. Known for its wines and the best pizza!
Castelletto d'Erro
This village gets the TLC it deserves
Bistagno
Groceries shopping with the locals
Milan
Metropolitan pleasure
Ok, officially Milan is not a city in the Piedmont, but it can be visited in a day from Poggio Maria.
Melazzo
Castle with a view
